SAPWA HISTORY

The Social Awareness Programme for Women and All (SAPWA) is the result of the extraordinary thoughts of Fazilatun Nessa, an ordinary woman. After establishing her children, Fazilatun Nessa used her experience to form SAPWA in 2016 with a group of backward women from the Madhyarchar area of Keraniganj in Dhaka. She is the founding president of SAPWA. SAPWA started its activities by establishing a library and publishing a journal. Gradually, this organization started working on healthcare and environmental protection. Since the registration of the Department of Women’s Affairs in 2021, the pace of work for the organization has increased. SAPWA is relentlessly working to make local women self-reliant by creating opportunities for their participation in various trainings (fashion designing, beautification, etc.) from the Upazila Women’s Affairs Office and the Joyeeta Foundation. SAPWA believes that women’s self-reliance and awareness will take the country one step further.
